Each student received a Marking the Text/SOAP method bookmark. Please see me if you did not receive one. Follow the directions of the 'How to Complete an Interactive Notebook PPT' to complete the assignments.

Tuesday
|
Students filled out all the states and capitals of the United States of America. Stamped by the end of the period for full credit. Map should be in various colors for full credit. Students will take a test on all the states and capitals on Thursday, August 29th. Students will be given a blank map and a word bank of all states and capitals. Must know where each state and capital go on the map in order to receive full points for the test.

Wednesday
|
Students took notes on "Who Really Discovered America?" Afterwards, students worked on the Coming to America DBQ using the SOAP method. Thirty minutes of class time will be given on Thursday to finish the DBQ. Afterwards, it will be stamped for full credit.

Thursday
|
Students were given 30 minutes to complete their Coming to America DBQ to be stamped for full credit. Afterwards, students were tested on major news stories that occurred over summer break. Students who knew the stories received candy. Students were shown how to navigate the class website. Students received instructions for the Colonial Brochure project and were assigned their region. The Brochure will be due at the end of the period on Tuesday, August 27th.

Students continued to work on their Colonial Brochure Project.
