This is the Zoom recording showing the first 45 minutes of the film. This recording will expire on Sunday, February 28th.
Password: RJ.!!4gH This is the full film of Saving Private Ryan that was posted on YouTube with Arabic subtitles. It's an excellent download, however, I do not know how long it'll last, so if you would like to watch the movie using this platform, I would recommend you maybe spend your Monday night watching it, in case it disappears within the middle of the week.

Students will begin watching Saving Private Ryan. This is an excellent WWII movie (and personally, my favorite) that portrays war in a very realistic manner. When the film initially came out in 1998, the VA had to set up a 1-800 number for WWII veterans, as it portrayed the horrors of the war so realistically that it brought back PTSD for many of the veterans. There are several ways students can watch the film:
Zoom Recordings: I will have a Zoom recording showing parts of the film for the next 4 days (Monday-Thursday). Due to a district policy, Zoom recording will expire after 7 days. At the bottom of each of those recordings, I will tell you when the recording will expire as well as give you the password for the Zoom Recording. The film will be broken into 45 minute segments, that way you can watch each part during the class period. YouTube: Someone has posted the entire film onto YouTube with Arabic subtitles. It's an excellent download of the film and won't stall like the Zoom recording will. However, I do not know how long it will last on this platform, so if you would like to watch it this way, my recommendation would be to spend your Monday night watching the movie. In total, the film is about 3 hours long. Rent the Movie: If neither of the above options work for you, students can rent the film on platforms such as Amazon or Apple TV. The cost to rent the film will range anywhere from $2.99-$3.99. The assignment is open today, however, it is not due until Friday, February 26th. If you watch the entire movie say tonight, you can absolutely turn in the assignment early. However, I have given you all class period on Friday to complete the assignment, so do not feel as though you have to rush to get the assignment done. The Zoom recording of this class can be found in the Announcements section of your Canvas Page. |
