Monday
Students participated in a simulation to demonstrate the differences between socialism, communism and capitalism. Afterwards, students took notes on the 'Origins of the Cold War' in the right hand side of their notebook.

Tuesday
Students were assigned the Cold War Packet and the Cold War Map. Students will use the Cold War Packet to fill in the Cold War Answer Sheet. For the Cold War Map, students will need to fill in the map, as is, using page 635 of the old textbook. Students had the period to work on both assignments, but may have only finished one. I suggested working on the Cold War Answer Sheet first and then moving on to the map, however, the choice is yours. Both assignments will need to be stamped for full credit.
STUDENTS WHO WERE ABSENT ON FRIDAY FROM THE SOCRATIC SEMINAR! You will need to complete the alternative assignment, which is located in Canvas, under Discussions. It is open today and closes Thursday. Be sure to follow the directions carefully. |
Wednesday
Students took notes on the Cold War Heats Up in the right hand side of their notebook. Afterwards, students had the rest of the class period to finish either the Cold War Map or Cold War Answer sheet. Both were stamped for full credit.

Thursday
Students took notes on the Weaponization of Nuclear Technology in the right hand side of their notebook.
Afterwards, students were assigned the Nuclear Survivors Activity. Students had an opportunity to look at the characters today, but will be placed in groups tomorrow to complete the activity. Friday
Students worked on their Nuclear Survivors Activity. If you are absent, you will be completing this by yourself and turning it into me directly. As a class, we shared responses as to who we would keep/get rid of and why. Afterwards, students watched The Twilight Zone "The Shelter." There are no questions to go along with the episode.
