Students will work on their Atomic Bomb Essay. Typically in class, I would spend two days showing a documentary on Hiroshima, which goes over what lead to the dropping of the Atomic Bomb as well as the aftermath/destruction the bomb caused. I have recorded those episodes for you to watch. Although there are no questions to go along with the documentary and you're not submitting anything for credit by watching it, the documentary will give you more background information and more of a visual as to what occurred. The documentary has a mix of live footage, reenactments of what happened as well as interviews with people who were actually there. So today, students should watch Hiroshima, Episode 1.

Thursday
Today is the last day for students to work on the Atomic Bomb Essay. Essays are to be submitted into Canvas tonight by 11:59 p.m. Any late essay submitted will automatically be deducted 25%. All essays must be submitted as a file upload, NOT a picture of your essay. Essays must be typed and not hand written. If you choose to write your essay via Google Docs and not Office 365, students must convert the Google Doc into a PDF or Word Document as the Google Docs link WILL NOT work with Canvas.
Friday
Students will be engaging in a discussion on Canvas about the decision to drop the Atomic Bomb on Japan to end WWII. Directions can be found in the Discussion Post on Canvas. This assignment will only be available for a week. After that, no student will be allowed to post or respond and will earn a zero. The Zoom recording of this class can be found in the Announcements section of your Canvas page.
