Tuesday
Students finished taking notes on 'Who Discovered America?' When finished, please hang onto the notes.
Wednesday
Students will put themselves into groups of 4 and create a poster as to who they think deserves the credit for discovering America. Students will create a poster using a piece of butcher paper (this will be provided for you) explaining who they think deserves credit for the discovery of America and why. The poster must have the following:
- Title (“Who Discovered America?”)
- Theory (e.g. “We believe ________ deserves the credit for the founding of America.”)
- Selected documents/evidence to support your theory
- Visuals to help illustrate your theory
Thursday
Students will be given time to finish up their posters and begin presenting. If presentations are not completed today, they will be completed tomorrow. EVERY student must talk, however, one person can be in charge of completing most of the presentation. Each student will need to say their name and a random fact about themselves (Ex: I have broken 3 bones, I'm a twin, I have 10 siblings, etc.) The rubric for the poster/presentation is as follows:
Who got credit: ______________________
Evidence: _____

Total: ____/30
