January 15-18

On Tuesday, January 15, students participated in a stock market activity in which they had the opportunity to buy and sell stocks throughout the 1920s. The activity on the write was given as a homework assignment. It will not be done in the notebook and should be turn in on Wednesday, January 16.
On Wednesday, January 16, students were assigned Phocabulary on page 492, #1-15 to be done in the left hand side of the notebook. It will be stamped on Thursday for full credit.
On Thursday, January 17, started notes on the Stock Market Crash in the right hand side of the notebook (slides 1-6). Notes will be continued. Students then finished Phocabulary and had the assignment stamped for full credit.

On Friday, January 18th, students finished notes on the Stock Market Crash (see above PowerPoint, slides 8-16). Students were then given the Great Depression Graphic Organizer. Using pages 470-476 in the textbook, match the key terms with the definitions before figuring out the order in which the Great Depression started and ended. The Graphic Organizer will be stamped on Tuesday, January 22, for full credit.

January 22-25
On Tuesday, January 22, The Great Depression Graphic Organizer was stamped for full credit. Began watching Cinderella Man which is based on the true story of boxer James J. Braddock and the Great Depression. We will finish the movie on Thursday, January 24 and the first notebook check will be due on Friday, January 25th.

On Friday, January 25th, took notes on "The Effects of the Great Depression" (see Stock Mark Crash notes above, slides 17-24). Students also turned in notebooks.
January 28-February 1
On Monday, January 28th, students completed the Effects of the Great Depression DBQ on a separate sheet of paper. It was turned in at the end of the period. Directions and documents are in the link to the left.

On Tuesday, January 29th, students took notes on FDR and the New Deal (slides 1-10, skip slide 8). After, we listened to FDR's first Fireside chat and answered questions to go along with it. Students then worked on the Great Depression Worksheet. If you did not finish it, you can get it stamped on Wednesday, January 30th for full credit.

On Wednesday, January 30th, students began work on the New Deal Worksheets (only pages 1-3). Use pages 503-525 of the textbook to help answer the questions. Can be stamped for full credit by Friday, February 1st.

On Thursday, January 31st, completed the First New Deal Notes (use the fill in notes and PowerPoint, slides 11-26). Continued to work on the New Deal Worksheets after.

On Friday February 1st, took notes on the Second New Deal (slides 27-37). The New Deal worksheets were stamped for full credit. Handed out the Great Depression/New Deal Study. Will be due Tuesday, February 5th before the test.

February 4-5
On Monday, February 4th, students worked on the Great Depression/New Deal Study Guide (see above if you need a copy). Will be turned in at the beginning of the period on Tuesday, February 5th.
On Tuesday, February 5th, students took their test on the Great Depression/New Deal. Test is 18 questions multiple choice, 3 Historical ID's and 2 free response questions. If you missed it, you have exactly a week to make it up.
